Lupe Fiasco:The Cool
Lupe-or Wasalu Muhammed Jaco, has been compared to Kanye West on numerous ocassions, his new album "The Cool" has certainly got some industry tounges wagging, it definately is "cool".
What is it like?
Hmmm...speechless!! This album is truly set to take Lupe to the next level. This is a fusion of some amazingly slick beats and socially aware lyrics, it is expertly produced and immaculately written. "Go Go Gadget flow! is somewhat poetic with an infectious beat, and "Hi Definition" has a catchy chorus somewhat likened to OutKast, with Snoop Dogg popping up on guest vocals. "Little Weapon" takes on a milatary sounding marching bass and a political message. The only thing with this album is it has 20 tracks!!! We aint complaining though because it is truly magic!!! We give "The Cool" a cool Five stars. Go cop it!

The Mentalists@Catch Shoreditch January 2008
The Mentalists 4 piece crazy, sexy cool all girl band really do know how to rock the house. They played an intimate gig in the uber cool Shoreditch venue. The band well known for their appearance on channel 4’s Mobile Act Unsigned displayed what it really means to be a “band”. With all members playing their own instruments, you could close your eyes and believe they were born to perform.They played their instruments like they were extensions of themselves; despite some sound problems with the bass guitar they rocked it!! Their music could be described as melodramatic punky funk, with their catchy hooks and melodies that you can actually sing along to without seeming cheesy.You could summon the Gods with their electric vibe and bring people off the streets like zombies. You just can’t help but tap your feet and nod your head. Watch this space for their world domination, this is girl power shout it from the rooftops; THE MENTALISTS!!!!The girls will be performing at Glastonbury this year, catch them at other venues in and around London and become an honouree Mentalist by going to their website and catching the Mentalist vibe.
