better the devil she knows!!! By Lara Winters

Intrigue's E.J bumped into DJ She Devil; talented female sensation from West London is taking the US by storm and has become the first UK female DJ to be signed in the states. She is Trina's official DJ and she has worked with many stars in the game such as Nelly and Lil John. We get down to business and find out what Miss She Devil is all about.

Intrigue: When did you first start Deejaying?

She Devil: I started deejaying when I was 15 years old.

Intrigue: What artist did you most like working with?
She Devil: I enjoyed deejaying for Lil John because he knows how to liven up any party!!!

Intrigue:Who would you most like to work with?
She Devil: I would like to work with Beyonce, Missy Elliot, Timberland there are a lot of people I respect and would love to work with in the future.

Intrigue: Who are your musical influences?
She Devil: My influences would have to be Spinderella and DJ Rap as they where the biggest female dj's when I was growing up.

Intrigue: Tell us the story behind you getting signed in the States?

She Devil: How my signing came about was,
I had been deejaying in the UK club scene for a while and I always wanted to DJ in the USA.So I took my records and headed to Miami with my friend Karina we asked around dropped some CD's around South Beach.A business man in Miami called Horace Madison who had heard about my deejaying offered me to play for Lil John on New Years eve which I did.
The party was a huge success and an add was published in the Miami herald.Games DJ Kriz styles and Victor Herrea worked for Czar Entertainment and they where in the process of forming a squad of DJ's called "The Czar squad DJ's"
They came down to the club I was spinning at to hear me do my DJ, which they did they liked my style of deejaying and I was offered the position to become the Czar squad djs 1st lady.A year later I was offered a contract from CEO Tony Neal of the Core DJ's to be the 1st British female DJ on a roster of over 400 DJ's and become a Core DJ and Core Model.

Intrigue: Have you found it difficult squashing the stereotypes as a female DJ in a male dominated industry?

She Devil: It has its ups and downs being a female DJ.Being a female in any male dominated industry will always be hard as they don't take you seriously. So I guess you just have to do your job and let that do the talking.
As for being from the UK the USA have always been welcoming and show me love.(they love the accent) lol lol

Yes stereotypes has been hard, as 9 times out of ten people will think I have got to where I am because of the way I look or because im a female.
I would say that has been the hardest part trying to show people that although you may have looks when its time for me to DJ my looks wont help me!!!!

Intrigue: Are you working on any other projects at the moment?

She Devil: Music production and song writing is something I like to do in my spear time.Once I have the time to focus on it fully I will approach the right people and see what deals come up. (I will keep you posted :)

Intrigue: Is it true you are currently managing a very talented 14 year old singer?

She Devil:Yes it is true that I am managing a 14 year old singer called Xya who I am very excited about.I would like her to focus on school as well as her singing but yes she is an artist I will be working with.

Juggling work is not easy but if you want something to succeed you have to put the work in.I am also blessed with a good team that work hard, I could not do this without them.

Things I am working on right now are:2 promotion company's Londonaires and On Point ENT which specialise in organising events in London and Europe.CEO of the Core DJ's Tony Neal and I have launched Core models UK.

Intrigue: What are your hopes and aspirations for the future?

She Devil:My aspirations for the future would be to see everything i'm working on to be a total success.
